wood care
As a natural material, wood needs gentle handling and regular maintenance.
To clean your piece, use a soft, damp cloth, and dry thoroughly.
Ideally feed your wood with a good quality furniture polish every 3-8 months.
Polishes containing beeswax or carnauba are best.
Ideally avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, which can alter the wood's vibrancy.
UV exposure usually results in a gradual bleaching of red/dark woods and a yellowing of blonde woods and can also cause desiccation and cracks.
Avoid prolonged contact with liquids, as wood absorbs moisture, leading to warping or cracking.
If your wood has dried out then feeding the wood with seed oils like linseed, tung or hemp seed oil can help restore its lustre. After 2-3 weeks wax polish can be reapplied.
(Note if your piece is finished with liquid quartz for a raw appearance do not use oil or wax as this will change its appearance, only use a soft damp cloth to clean.)
